About MixedSoup

Welcome to MixedSoup!

I’m a home cook, serious eater, enthusiastic traveler, and firm believer that some of life’s best adventures begin with a good meal and a decent glass of wine.

MixedSoup began back in 2010 as a shared adventure with my then-husband, Steve. Together, we cooked, traveled, explored, and occasionally got ourselves into situations that made for rather entertaining stories. From our little farmhouse in the Pacific Northwest to culinary adventures farther afield, we collected recipes, experiences, and a fair number of memories along the way.

Those stories are still here, and they’re very much part of MixedSoup’s history.

Life, of course, has a habit of changing the recipe.

These days, I call Folly Beach, just outside Charleston, South Carolina, home. After a rather lengthy absence from blogging, I’ve decided it’s time to dust off the keyboard, stir the pot, and see what happens next.

My love of food hasn’t diminished one bit. Neither has my curiosity about the world, the people who inhabit it, or what they’re putting on the dinner table.

I’ll be sharing culinary discoveries, recipes worth keeping, travels near and far, and whatever amusing mishaps happen along the way. Expect a little fine dining, a little kitchen experimentation, the occasional questionable decision, and probably more wine than strictly necessary.

MixedSoup has always been a medley of recipes and adventures. That hasn’t changed.

The only difference is that this time, I’m holding the spoon.

Cheers!
